JOB TITLE: Technical Support and Network Installer – UK DRIVERS LICENSE REQUIRED
CONTRACT: Part Time or Full Time
SALARY: £14k to start or £8.50 /hour part time
DEPARTMENT: Support/Network Installation/On-Site
RESPONSIBILITIES: Installation on client sites, customer technical support
WORKING HOURS: 3 days a week part time or full time 5 days a week, based in SE18 London Charlton

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Opportunity for IT/Computing graduate or passionate techy with valid UK driving licence
We are looking for a passionate IT graduate with networking experience to work for a rapidly growing innovative IT and telecoms company.

We require a competent individual to install our systems at client offices. To perform the task you would require the following skills:

• Understanding of IP addresses and networking concepts
• Configuring DSL routers to allow ports to be forwarded
• Familiarity with configuring routers in general
• Installing switches and cabling, often via trunking or Ethernet cables connecting devices
• Pleasant manner and helpful approach to keep customers confident and happy

You will be expected to learn about our buzzbox system and understand the technology behind it. We don’t require formal qualifications, but you must have a passion for learning about new and groundbreaking technology. We are looking for an ambitious and confident individual who is able to manage themselves and others competently and decisively. Phone and personal manner must be warm and approachable with a positive attitude and approach.

You will require a drivers license and we will supply a vehicle for you to get to and from the clients. You may expect to be out of the office 3 days a week on average, the rest of your week will be spent in-house and you will be expected to help with the support of the customers over the phone and via email. If you have any other experience, such as HTML, PHP or web development skills, this would be a bonus but not necessary.

As a small company, you will be expected to get your hands dirty in a variety of disciplines, but the focus is on creating a hardworking but fun environment for you to learn, grow and prosper with us.

What Does a Support Engineer Do?

1st-line engineer
• Basic technical trouble shooting (e.g. password resets; cabling; access; workstation configuration)
• Rebuilds of workstations
• Installation of software
• Requires a level of supervision (whether onsite or remote)
• Qualification equivalent: A+ or MCITP

2nd-line engineer
• Minimal supervision required
• Average to good trouble shooting skills (e.g. AD; servers; workstations; databases; networking)
• Ability to know where to find information if unable to resolve (i.e. technical sites; vendors; etc)
• Rebuilds of servers
• Troubleshooting of applications
• Qualification equivalent: MCSA

3rd-line engineer
• No supervision required
• Excellent trouble shooting skills (e.g. Fortigate; Citrix; VM Ware; Exchange)
• Investigation of repeat failures and establishing root cause
• Consultancy on technical projects/solutions
• Qualification equivalent: MCSE

So, Am I Right for the Job?
* Experience of providing IT Support in a commercial environment relevant to your level (i.e. 1+ year for entry level etc.)
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Experience supporting Microsoft software (Office, Exchange, Active Directory, Server etc)
* Formal IT qualification, ideally MCSE/MCITP or multiple MCPs is massively advantageous but not essential!

The Package:
 Salary dependent upon experience ¬ £18k – £30k (1st – 3rd line), this is negotiable!
 22 days annual leave

Female Support Workers

Abacus Care Greenwich urgently requires female Re-ablement Support Workers to work in domiciliary care settings in Greenwich, South East London. You will help prevent avoidable hospital admissions, facilitate early safe discharge and help clients reduce their dependency on long term services by enabling them to return home, stay home and maintain their independence. You will work alongside other teams to ensure the effective delivery of the care plan.
Requirements:

• NVQ 2 in Adult Health and Social Care, or equivalent, or working towards, or experience of working at that level (ESSENTIAL)
• Experience of working with older people in a hospital, residential, community or rehabilitative setting (ESSENTIAL)
• Experience of recuperative care – (desirable)
• Good communication (ESSENTIAL)
• Ability to recognise own limitations and know when to ask for help (ESSENTIAL)
• Very flexible approach and ability to adapt to change. Able to work responsibly with minimal supervision (ESSENTIAL)
• Good team player (ESSENTIAL)
• Receptive to learning (ESSENTIAL)
• Ability to explain the concept of rehab to Service Users and teach new skills (desirable)
• First Aid – (desirable.)
• Caring nature ((ESSENTIAL)
• Ability to recognise and respect Service User choice. (ESSENTIAL)
• Ability to work flexibly across a range of shifts between 7am and 11pm (ESSENTIAL)
• Car driver with access to a car (ESSENTIAL)
