Applications are invited for the position of Systems Officer at The Queen’s College.  The Systems Officer is the key technical member of the IT team and will work in conjunction with the IT Officer, the IT Support Assistant, IT Fellow and the JCR IT Office Assistant to provide computing support. The key responsibilities of the role are:

a) network infrastructure & security: delivery of a college IT network that is fast, efficient, reliable and protected from risks as far as budget and resources allow;

b) server (physical and virtual) infrastructure & security: build and maintain college Windows and Linux servers to deliver a reliable and secure platform for College services;

c) College services infrastructure and support: delivery of an infrastructure fit to support the services required by the College, with appropriate security, resilience and backup;

d) planning and managing infrastructure;

e) helpdesk and hardware support for staff, students and guests;

f) where required by the IT Officer, general management of IT matters in college.
