Permanent link to job description (cos it’s trapped in this blog’s Media library): Research Communications Officer

Heart disease is the UK’s single biggest killer. The BHF is the nation’s heart charity and the UK’s premier charitable funding body for cardiovascular research. With an active research portfolio totalling over £400m, the Research Communications Officer plays a vital role as the link between BHF-funded researchers and the public.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a talented and creative science communicator to join the Health and Research team in the BHF Multimedia department. This position plays a key role in promoting our research funding in ways that are relevant to the public and patients.

The Research Communications Officer advises and assists colleagues across the organisation, providing a first class research information service matched to fundraising or PR needs, and works directly with journalists to promote BHF research in local and national media.

This varied role would suit a person with an enthusiasm for biological sciences and an ability to write fluently and persuasively for a range of audiences. The successful applicant will be a confident, creative self-starter who is able to juggle tasks and work under pressure to deliver a first class science communication service.

To apply for this role please use the apply button below. Our process involves submitting your CV and a covering letter, which should outline your interest and explain how you meet the role’s criteria. Please note we will only accept applications via this method.
