Responsible to the Board of Trustees, the Chief Executive Officer will act as figurehead for the organisation to external stakeholders (primarily but not exclusively the University) and provide inspirational leadership and direction to the senior management team and the wider staff population. The role will also support and advise the elected Officers and work with the Trustees to ensure that, together with senior management, they will need skills to achieve the goals set out in the Strategic Plan. With a close eye on the commercial, financial and personnel components the CEO will, ultimately, shape resources and activities in such a way to ensure the organisation meets its ongoing commitment to delivering first class student services in a sustainable way. The CEO will at all times keep the needs of students at the heart of every decision and challenge others to do the same.

This is an additionally exciting challenge, as In the summer of 2015 the Union will be moving into a brand new stand alone £10m purpose built home.
